Michelle - hahaha I wish! I'm good at carrot cake but not that good. I love how Bourke St Bakery changes things up by putting the cream cheese as a filling and not an icing. small things, you know!
Simply scrumptious looking, I should get down to the bakery again! haha this made me laugh though cause it reminds me of when I take photos midway through eating, then think it would be eaten quicker if I didn't have to blog about it ;) x
Hannah - it was delicious, you would have loved. My favourite thing about carrot cake is how it's dairy free and can be pretty easily made gluten free, which is good because my grandma can't eat either!! x xx
so I can't believe I forgot to update this for may, that's gotta be the first time in more than two years that I haven't updated! whoooooops, so an extra long one for June is in order; overalls/dungarees whatever you want to call them, you're my one true (new) love (these glassons ones are ace), Moonraker by Ian Fleming, home-made pea and mint soup, tortoiseshell sunglasses by Kate Sylvester, eating at a communal table at the farmhouse in Kings Cross, buffet breakfast at the Palazzo Versace, the annual Simon Johnson warehouse sale aka nirvana, finally getting to see the great gatsby (will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?), La Botte Gardiane perfect black sandals, the delicious effortlessness and dewy youthfulness of Sunday Riley's primer and Good Genes serum (why are all the best things for your skin so expensive?), chia porridge, green juices all day errday, sending correspondance for no reason via snail mail, Reading Miss Vogue, a quick trip to melbourne to raid the MCG library and ogle the monet, knowing that I need to buy some denim and getting addicted to the styles on ASOS, state of origin, always a good excuse to break out the guacamole, bawling my eyes out alone in my room watching The Central Park Five, wanting to cook every recipe from Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries 2, but particularly the cider bread and bacon and celeriac soup, Dieppa Restrepo Leon Loafers in Leopard, pantry teas and hen's nights and all that good stuff for friends who are getting hitched, laughing a lot with new people in my life, not drinking coffee anymore, replacing it with tea, getting excited to visit stores like Father Rabbitt in NZ at the end of the year, Hong Kong again, in the sticky-aired heat of summer.
